Taipe – Bandara Internasional Taoyuan di Taiwan dilaporkan menghadapi keberadaan suatu objek terbang yang tidak dikenal. Objek tersebut mengganggu operasional penerbangan dan berdampak pada lebih dari 1.000 jadwal penerbangan pada hari Senin (22/5/2023).

Seperti dilansir dari Central News Agency (CNA), Senin (22/5/2023). Penutupan berlangsung sekitar 40 menit dan lalu lintas udara dilanjutkan sekitar pukul 10.10 pagi, menurut TIAC. Penutupan landasan pacu berdampak pada tujuh penerbangan.
”Pendaratan Peach Aviation penerbangan MM23 dan AirAsia penerbangan Z2124 ditunda serta keberangkatan BR712 EVA Airways, JX850 StarLux Airlines dan AK1511 AirAsia dengan total 919 penumpang,” kata TIAC.
Dua penerbangan lainnya, Cathay Pacific CX488 dan Xiamen Airlines MF887 yang dijadwalkan mendarat. Dialihkan ke Bandara Kaohsiung yang berdampak pada 280 penumpang, kata TIAC.
TIAC mengatakan otoritas bandara tidak dapat mengidentifikasi objek terbang tersebut karena hanya dilihat oleh satu pilot, namun tidak menutup kemungkinan objek tersebut adalah drone.
Mereka yang terlibat dalam aktivitas drone tidak sah di area terlarang di bandara dapat didenda USD9.780, menurut TIAC mengutip Undang-Undang Penerbangan Sipil.
