Samarinda β Persatuan Wartawan Indonesia (PWI) Pusat mengeluarkan aturan baru beberapa waktu lalu sehingga PWI Provinsi Kalimantan Timur akan mengadakan konferensi provinsi yang berbeda dari sebelumnya.
Dengan aturan baru, seluruh anggota PWI Kaltim diharapkan memerhatikan status keanggotaan mereka.
Pelaksana Tugas (Plt) Ketua PWI Kaltim, Achmad Shahab, menjelaskan hal tersebut pada Sabtu (20/1/2024) di Samarinda. Status keanggotaan disebut sangat penting karena konferensi provinsi akan memilih pengurus baru. Konferprov juga memilih ketua baru karena Endro Efendi sebagai ketua PWI Kaltim saat ini sudah menjabat selama dua periode.
Berdasarkan edaran PWI Pusat, anggota yang berhak memilih dalam konferprov adalah anggota biasa dengan kartu tanda anggota (KTA) yang masih aktif saat pemilihan.
βAnggota muda dapat menghadiri konferprov namun tidak memiliki hak suara,β kata Shahab didampingi Wakil Ketua Bidang Organisasi PWI Kaltim Felanans G Mustari.
Dalam mekanisme yang baru ini, tambah Felanans, pemilihan ketua PWI provinsi maupun ketua dewan kehormatan PWI provinsi akan melalui sejumlah tahapan.
Pertama, panitia konferprov akan mengumumkan daftar pemilih sementara (DPS) pada 27 Februari 2024. Pada waktu yang sama, pendaftaran bakal calon ketua PWI dan ketua dewan kehormatan dibuka.
Sebulan kemudian, 27 Maret 2024, panitia konferensi akan mengumumkan daftar pemilih tetap. Waktu sampai DPT diumumkan itu dapat dimanfaatkan anggota PWI Kaltim untuk memastikan status keanggotaannya. Apabila sampai DPT diumumkan, masa berlaku KTA sudah habis, yang bersangkutan tidak memiliki hak suara dalam konferprov.
Masih merujuk edaran PWI Pusat, Felanans mengatakan, anggota biasa dapat memperpanjang status keanggotaan dengan syarat masa berlaku KTA tidak boleh mati lebih dari satu tahun.
βStatus anggota yang KTA-nya habis masa berlaku lebih dari satu tahun dianggap gugur sehingga harus mengulang status keanggotaan dari anggota muda,β terang Felanans.
Aturan baru ini sudah diberlakukan PWI pusat yang berwenang mengeluarkan KTA untuk anggota biasa. Bagi anggota yang ingin memperpanjang KTA dapat mengisi formulir dan melengkapi berkas dengan sertifikat uji kompetensi wartawan.
Sementara itu, anggota muda juga dapat menaikkan status menjadi anggota biasa dengan syarat yang sama. Ketentuan keanggotaan ini sesuai dengan edaran pengurus PWI Pusat dan PD/PRT PWI.
