Dalam buku The Cashflow Quadrant, Kiyosaki memaparkan tentang empat kuadran utama yang ada dalam dunia kerja dan bisnis, yaitu karyawan (employee), pemilik usaha kecil (small business owner), pemilik bisnis besar (big business owner), dan investor. Setiap kuadran memiliki karakteristik, tantangan, dan kesempatan yang berbeda-beda.
Karyawan adalah orang yang bekerja untuk orang lain dan mendapatkan gaji sebagai imbalan. Karyawan biasanya mengalami keterbatasan dalam penghasilan dan waktu karena terikat oleh aturan dan kebijakan perusahaan. Di sisi lain, pemilik usaha kecil adalah orang yang memiliki usaha kecil yang masih tergantung pada dirinya sendiri. Pemilik usaha kecil bisa meraih keuntungan yang lebih besar dibandingkan karyawan, tetapi juga memiliki risiko yang lebih tinggi.
Pemilik bisnis besar adalah orang yang memiliki bisnis yang besar dan memiliki banyak karyawan. Mereka memperoleh keuntungan dari kerja keras karyawan dan memiliki kebebasan dalam waktu dan penghasilan. Namun, mereka juga bertanggung jawab atas keberlangsungan bisnis dan harus menghadapi persaingan yang ketat.
Sedangkan investor adalah orang yang menghasilkan uang dari investasi. Mereka memperoleh penghasilan dari aset yang dimiliki seperti saham, properti, atau bisnis yang dikelola oleh orang lain. Investor memiliki kebebasan waktu dan penghasilan yang tinggi, tetapi juga memiliki risiko yang tinggi dalam mengelola investasinya.
Sumber Penghasilan yang Beragam
Dalam buku The Cashflow Quadrant, Kiyosaki menekankan bahwa kebebasan finansial bisa diraih dengan menjadi pemilik bisnis besar atau investor. Kedua kuadran tersebut memiliki kebebasan dalam waktu dan penghasilan yang lebih besar dibandingkan karyawan atau pemilik usaha kecil.
